By Annelize: Taking back your own life, taking responsibility for past failures and successes is not always easy. It is very difficult and so complicated. It is easier to blame someone else and forget about your failures. I guess we all had our issues these past months with 2020 throwing us a curve ball we never imagined we could get. We are still challenged with how we want to change our lives after what we have experienced mutually these past months. We have been shaken to the core, and we are being confronted with what happens next. We have an opportunity to use this and create something new.
To reset means to set again or differently. I love that we could have an opportunity to reset and continue as we did before, or we can set it again, but to something different. Resetting life is an opportunity we receive at certain stages in life, just to pause and take stock of what has happened, where we are, and how do we want to continue.
Resetting is adjusting, modifying, and restarting something, and we need to realize that we get this opportunity every day to restart. We can wake up each day, leaving yesterday behind and move into the present day. We can adjust and change what did not work yesterday into something that can work today. We can modify our behavior and thoughts so that it is not the same as yesterday, and we can restart again, have a new beginning. It is up to us on how we want to face each day.
My reset in life came due to some trauma experienced, and I realized that it is not just a once-off process of pushing a button and suddenly everything changed. It is a daily procedure of pushing the button when I have gone back to past behaviors, patterns, or attitudes that do not serve me best. A daily intention to reset again, to realize the new day, the being in the now and not in the past anymore.
Resetting life helps to give you a clean slate where you can write, design, paint, draw, type, and create anything you want. We cannot just press a hard-reset button to go back to the original product as it was when it was brand new, to wipe out all the data and just have everything restored to its origin. Our memories will be with us, our past is part of us, our pain will be there, but we can move beyond that. We cannot allow those things to define us or define the path of our life. Those things can be used as an asset to rebuild and resetting life in a new direction.
Today I challenge you, do you need a reset, a restart, or some type of adjustment? Do not wait for someone to come along and do it for you, you can press that button today and each day until you start moving into what you want and need. Some days will be easier than others, but the intention needs to be there, that is where it all starts. So, whenever you press the reset button on a game just remind yourself that you are still in control of your life and you can press reset anytime you want or need. Now go press that button and share in what ways your life has been reset.
Love and Light,
