Temporary Pleasure Vs. True Happiness

By Ann: Permanent happiness is having a stable and peaceful mind and being in the present rather than running after temporary pleasure to achieve short term happiness. Temporary pleasures are short lived like money, food, sex, drugs or alcohol which triggers dopamine in the brain.

Lasting happiness is not forced, it comes from successful achievements, good health, and long term relationships. People today strive for instant gratification, rather than being patient to achieve long lasting happiness. Having more materially does not make you truly happy. Happiness comes from within. Short term pleasures are a part of life as long as they don’t define who we are and rule our life and harm us.

Don’t keep wishing for tomorrow and miss out on today because life is short so invest in long term happiness. Temporary pleasures can affect our long-term happiness and cause regrets. Mahatma Gandhi said live for today, die tomorrow. This doesn’t mean go and be reckless. It means to make the most of your life and make wise choices because no one knows when they will die. Life is a precious gift from God, so make the most of your life in a healthy and happy way. Respecting our body means to look after ourselves, physically, mentally and spiritually. Long term happiness will follow if we stop and recognize there is a higher being we all answer to. Have daily goals and focus on taking small steps to achieve your long-term happiness.

Try to enjoy the little things in life and be positive, have some quiet time to destress from the hectic world we live in. This will bring contentment and appreciation and not become overwhelmed with the big things in life. Life is not a bed of roses and things like a listening ear, a hug and a cup of tea means more than big showy displays. Love is all around us and you need to open your eyes and see it. We interact with people every day, and showing the real you is important. Remove all bitterness and hatred, get rid of the dark cloud over you!

I do not want Temporary love, I want a lifetime of love. I am grateful to God and the Angels for this and most of all, love yourself. I am a strong believer that if you do not love yourself, you are not capable of loving another person, And the crazy thing about this is that people fall in love with a material object now that is a “Temporary Pleasure”. True happiness is what you create. This is the thing if you are counting on another person to make you happy and your whole life depends on it then that is an illusion. It cannot work. You need to be independent in your own right and be happy with yourself.

True happiness is a state of mind as I said, love is all around us. Just see it, open your eyes, look at nature and wild love animals gives unconditional love. Of course, it depends on how you treat the person or the animal whether you get love back.

The Angels say make happiness and love your true intentions.
