By Annelize: Like water that runs wherever the path leads, so our lives need to be fluid. We want to hold on to a certain way of living or doing things. We don’t like change, we want things to stay the same, mostly forever. However, life is changing daily, we are changing daily. Just look at nature surrounding us, every day is different.
The weather change, the daylight changes daily, the sunset and sunrise change, the earth rotates – everything is in movement constantly. We humans are probably the only ones fighting this, wanting everything to be static, not changing.
What we don’t realize is the pain we cause ourselves by not being fluid. When we are fluid like water, we can go into any shape or container and take that form. We can flow, changing all the time, adapting, being in movement, gives us the opportunity to live life the fullest. Flow is defined as to move in one direction, especially continuously and easily; to proceed smoothly and readily; to go from one place to another in a steady stream.
Not holding on but letting go creates the endless opportunities that life can offer to us. If we hold on trying to keep things together, we fall apart. Why? Because things are not meant to stay the same always. If things flow and move, we can be open to the new ideas, new opportunities, new ways of living life and experience what life wants us to experience.
Being exposed, vulnerable, open and bare is not easy, but with this we create and live life to the fullest. When we must trust, believe and hope that whatever arises is for my own good, we are building ourselves. We are getting stronger, we are trusting the Force to guide us and direct our flow – we surrender! We give up our control of our lives and we trust that we are directed Divinely. Then life becomes a miracle, and endless opportunities starts to arise, but if we hold on, trying to control and manage all things we are probably going to end up feeling hurt and feeling that life is against us. We are against life if we are rigid…life flows, take it or leave it, and the more we flow the more alive we are.
Always remember the quote from Lao Tzu:
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
Will you be fluid, will you change and shape yourself so you can adapt to whatever comes your way? It is not always easy, we like easy, I like easy, but being able to go with the flow is the easy, the best and the most fluid way to live your life. Creating endless opportunities to grow, to stretch and to learn. So be challenged today to change form and become fluid so you can flow wherever life takes you!
