By Brenda: 2020 starting on Jan 24th is the year of the Rat in the Chinese Zodiac. Crafty, wily and resourceful, the rat is the first sign in the Chinese zodiac. According to Chinese Myth, the Jade Emperor declared that the order of the Chinese Zodiac would be determined by which animal came first by who showed up for his party. The story is that the Rat tricked the Ox into giving him a ride to the party. When they arrived he hopped off the back of the Ox and entered the party first. The Rat represents wealth, surplus and fertility often prayed to by married couples who wanted children.
Rat people are energetic and likable but can be sensitive to others opinions and stubborn in their own. Rats can be stingy with finance and their fondness for hoarding can make them spend money on useless things.
Men born under the sign of the Rat are often clever and creative able to take advantage of new opportunities. Lack of follow through can get them in trouble and make them wishy washy leaders.
Women born under the sign of the Rat tend to be very traditional, wanting an abundant and orderly home and place great emphasis on family. Outside of the home they are determined and energetic workers.
