Life Is About Creating Yourself – Part 1

By Ann: We all go through hard times and moments when we wonder, “Why me?” Many people believe they are cursed or ask,

“If there is a God, why does He let this happen to me?” But sometimes life brings us experiences we need, even if it feels easier to place blame elsewhere.

Creating yourself is not easy—it requires daily effort and honesty. The first step is having a vision of the life you want to live. Without it, change remains out of reach. Some may say, “I can’t do this. I’m fine just sitting on the couch, watching TV, playing games, or arguing with my partner.” I’ve heard these words countless times in my work as a life coach.

But I’ve also seen people climb out of their darkest holes when they finally accepted a helping hand and chose to live again.

Forgiveness and Letting Go

One of the greatest obstacles to creating yourself is holding onto grudges. Anger and resentment poison the body and spirit. I’ve seen people suffer heart attacks, cancer, and even take their own lives because they couldn’t release the pain they carried from family, friends, or colleagues.

If this is you, start by forgiving yourself. You cannot build a new life while chained to old wounds. Forgiveness is freedom—it allows your soul to heal and move forward.

The Power of Change

Excuses are easy, but transformation begins with one honest question: “Do I truly want to change?” No matter what challenges or addictions you face, change is possible. You must first believe it.

I once worked with a man who came to me with suicidal thoughts. He felt lost, unworthy, and devastated by unrequited love. He also carried a dream of becoming a lawyer, but his self-doubt crushed him. Together, we worked on shifting his thoughts. He began exercising, accepted that his relationship was not meant to be, and focused on his studies.

When he later suffered a relapse and entered a psychiatric ward, he called me. With prayer, persistence, and daily effort, he found his strength again. He passed his exams, became a lawyer, and even pursued his dream of becoming a barrister. He failed the bar once, but with renewed mindset work, he overcame his doubts—and today, he stands proudly as a barrister.

Creating Yourself

This is the power of self-creation. No matter your pain, your past, or your doubts, you can create the person you want to be. It takes courage, discipline, and belief—but the transformation is real and possible for anyone willing to commit.

I am here for you on this journey.

Love and Light,

Ann
