Astrology & Time: A Guide To Navigating Life’s Seasons

By Renato: “There is a season for everything, a time for every purpose under heaven.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:1

One of the most beautiful and thought-provoking passages in the Bible comes from Ecclesiastes 3:1–8. It reminds us that every moment in life has its own rhythm and meaning. A time to be born, a time to die. A time to weep, a time to laugh. A time to tear down, and a time to build.

As we grow older, these verses can stir deep emotions—both comfort and a subtle fear of what lies ahead. Will destiny take its course? Do we have the power to prepare, to understand, to change it?

This is where astrology offers profound insight. At its core, astrology is the study of time—its cycles, qualities, and patterns. Through predictive tools like transits and progressions, astrology reveals the nature of the time we’re living in and how we can move through it with awareness and intention.

Astrology: Not Fatalism, But Foresight
Astrology today is no longer fatalistic. While ancient astrologers viewed planetary transits as predetermined fate, we now understand these cosmic movements as signals—opportunities to prepare, shift course, and evolve. As astrologer Betty Lundsted once said:

“The constructive use of transits can be compared to a walk in the rain with a good raincoat and umbrella. Well-equipped people are not as bothered by the rain as those who are caught off guard.”

When you know it might rain, you bring an umbrella. Likewise, when you’re aware of an intense Pluto or Saturn transit, you seek support, take precautions, and manage the storm instead of being swept away.

Awareness = Empowerment
Carl Jung put it best:

“Until you become conscious, the unconscious will direct your life, and you will call it fate.”

Astrology gives us the awareness that allows free will to flourish. The more we understand the inner and outer forces shaping our experience, the more empowered we become to make conscious choices.

Let’s explore how the slow-moving outer planets—what I call the Gods of Change—shape our lives through their transits.

Saturn: The Great Teacher
Saturn shows us reality, often in a stark light. It reveals our limitations and responsibilities. While its lessons may be tough, they bring lasting growth.

When Saturn transits your chart:

Reevaluate your career, friendships, or responsibilities

Focus on self-discipline and skill-building

Prioritize your bones, back, teeth, and Vitamin D

Cut excess: spending, stress, and emotional baggage

Uranus: The Awakener
Uranus breaks the rules and brings sudden shifts. It stirs restlessness and a need for freedom. But liberation isn’t always painless—it can come through chaos or upheaval.

During Uranus transits:

Expect changes in relationships, work, or identity

Watch your nervous system and heart health

Avoid impulsive decisions, especially under stress

Explore technology, astrology, or new sciences

Neptune: The Dreamweaver
Neptune blurs reality with dreams and ideals. It can inspire spiritual growth or lead to illusion and disillusionment. This is the planet of mysticism—but also of escapism.

During Neptune transits:

Stay grounded; avoid big commitments

Watch for addiction, denial, or unhealthy attachments

Find healthy transcendence through art, faith, or service

Seek therapy, water-based healing, or creative outlets

Pluto: The Transformer
Pluto transforms through intensity. It brings power struggles, endings, rebirths, and deep emotional revelations. It is never subtle, and it always leaves a mark.

During Pluto transits:

Face buried fears, traumas, or obsessions

Beware of toxic power dynamics in love or work

Monitor health (especially reproductive and digestive)

Seek psychological or spiritual support

Trust the process—Pluto strips away the false to reveal truth

Can We Change Destiny?
You might ask: Can we escape fate? The answer is both yes and no.

Yes—because self-awareness changes everything. With knowledge, we prevent, prepare, and grow. We live longer, healthier, more empowered lives than our ancestors. That’s not just chance—it’s conscious evolution.

No—because some aspects of life are outside our control. But even then, we can choose how we respond. And in that response lies our freedom.

Astrologer Antônio Facciollo Neto once said:

“Those who have good karma have access to good astrology.”

If you’re reading this, perhaps it’s part of your good karma—to awaken, to prepare, and to take the reins of your own story.

Astrology doesn’t remove challenge from our lives—but it gives us the tools to navigate it wisely. With every transit, we are invited to evolve. And with awareness, even the hardest seasons can become powerful turning points.
