By Laura: Let me ask you something.
Have you ever felt rejected, abandoned, or like you’re somehow too much—even when, deep down, you know that’s not true?
That isn’t you being dramatic. That’s your inner child speaking.
Not broken.
Not attention-seeking.
Just… unseen. Unheard. Unmet.
Most of us are walking through life carrying earlier versions of ourselves—versions that never received the love, validation, or safety they needed. We get on with things. We push through. We hold space for everyone else.
But inside, there’s still a little one… waiting for you to notice them.
Not someone else.
You.
And once you do? Everything begins to shift.
Who Is the Inner Child?
Your inner child is the part of you that still remembers:
What it felt like to be let down
Being told to be quiet
Feeling like your emotions were too big or inconvenient
It’s the part of you that learned to shrink to stay safe.
That became hyper-independent, overly accommodating, or constantly on edge.
Healing doesn’t mean reliving the pain.
It means meeting this part of you with presence—with love, compassion, and truth.
Sometimes, it’s as simple as pausing to say:
“I see you. You didn’t deserve that. I’m here now. You’re safe with me.”
That’s where the healing begins.
Not with grand rituals or complicated models.
But with a single choice.
A moment of reconnection.
A spark of remembering.
Reparenting: Becoming Who You Needed
Reparenting means becoming the safe space you didn’t have back then.
It means:
Speaking to yourself with kindness
Setting boundaries that honor your peace
Listening to your needs—without guilt or shame
It can be messy. It can feel unfamiliar. But it’s also powerful. And deeply freeing.
Because when you begin to show up for your inner child… something softens.
The anxiety loosens its grip
The people-pleasing fades
The guilt begins to dissolve
You stop reacting from pain—and start responding from truth
You feel safer in your own energy.
More anchored in who you are.
You stop looking for someone to complete you… because you’ve already come home to yourself.
Start Small. Keep It Simple.
You don’t need to overthink this.
Start with one kind thing each day:
Let yourself play
Let yourself rest
Do something just because it brings you joy
Pause when you’re triggered and ask:
“Is this my adult self responding, or is this the child in me needing love?”
That question alone can change your life.
This journey isn’t about fixing anything.
You were never broken.
It’s about remembering who you were before the world told you otherwise.
It’s about returning to yourself.
It’s about bringing every part of you—especially the messy, emotional, unhealed bits—into the light.
Because those parts?
They’re not something to hide.
They’re sacred.
You are not too much.
You are not too sensitive.
You are not behind.
You’re healing.
And your inner child?
They’re not waiting for a miracle.
They’re just waiting for you.
Let’s walk them home.
Gently.
Together.
