By Isabella: How easily do you let go? When someone hurts your feelings, or when you find yourself in disagreement or argument with a spouse, parent, sibling, or friend,
do you hold onto that defensive energy, or are you able to transition to a state of neutrality or another emotion?
Conflict resolution is an art—one that is essential for maintaining both your health and peace of mind. The way we argue or disagree with others speaks volumes about our level of emotional intelligence. If you find yourself reacting like a street brawler—screaming, name-calling, and spewing venom—you may need to examine the true source of your anger. Often, the outburst is not about the immediate issue, but rather a culmination of small annoyances that have been simmering beneath the surface.
If you respond to conflict by pouting or punishing the other person with silence, distance, or vindictive behavior, it may be time to consider your karma. This could involve exploring past life connections with that person through methods like past life regression, dream interpretation, or self-hypnosis.
Retaliating with negative behavior—such as trying to make someone jealous—suggests deeper issues related to expectations, ego, character, integrity, or insecurity. On the other hand, if your approach to conflict involves removing yourself from the situation until both parties can calm down, you may already hold the key to resolution.
Scientists have shown that it typically takes the average person about 20 minutes to calm down during a heated argument. In individuals with certain mental health challenges—like ADHD, bipolar disorder, or similar conditions—brain chemistry can shift within 20 to 30 minutes when in a heightened state of agitation or during an episode. By stepping away from the drama and allowing your mind to settle, you enable yourself to tap into higher solutions, gain a broader perspective, and often see the bigger picture more clearly.
As you reflect on the situation, ask yourself what you are learning or mastering in that moment. Pose the critical question: “Will this matter a year from now?” More often than not, the answer is no. Additionally, if you consider, “What if this is their last day on Earth? What if this is my last day on Earth?” you’ll find that the bigger picture becomes glaringly clear, and many arguments lose their urgency.
It’s also important to be aware of the spiritual messages within conflict. Is this person meant to remain in your life, or have you outgrown each other? Could the universe be protecting you from further harm? Has your past life karma with this person reached completion, signaling that it’s time to move on? These are crucial questions to contemplate both before and after any conflict, including those with family members.
Families are formed in the heavens before souls arrive on Earth. We return together to resolve negative karma, generate positive karma, learn life lessons, or simply continue connections from lifetimes left unfinished. While karma plays a key role in our intense feelings and reactions to certain people, it’s up to you to decide whether to let the karma play out or to forgive yourself for whatever may have contributed to the strife.
As a wise author once wrote, “Letting go is an art and a science; the art is knowing how, the science is choosing when.”
Prioritize your health and well-being over the desire to be loved by the “wrong” people. Focus on how you are acting, over-reacting, or interacting with those you give your attention to. Value your peace of mind more than the need to fix broken or wounded relationships.
Your mind, body, and soul will thank you. Those who are truly meant to be in your life will remain, regardless of what you say or do.
I would love to share more with you about letting go and attracting the “right” people into your life. Please reach out—I am here to help.
Wishing you Love, Peace, and Prosperity,
