By Ernst: From the moment we’re born, we’re taught to identify with things that are not truly us—a name, a body, a role.

We’re conditioned to believe we are merely human, when in truth, being human is only a fleeting expression of a far greater consciousness. Beneath the surface, we are multidimensional beings—vast awareness having a focused, physical experience. Within us lie layers of perception, waiting to be accessed. Yet most of us live confined to a false, limited sense of self.

Near-death experiences often offer a glimpse into this truth. People describe leaving their bodies, moving through tunnels of light, and suddenly knowing they are more than flesh. They become aware of themselves as pure consciousness, deeply connected to something infinite. What traps us in the illusion of separateness is the lens through which we experience this world: the body and, more precisely, the brain.

The brain is a marvel—two hemispheres, left and right, bridged by the corpus callosum. When in harmony, these sides give us access to logic and intuition, structure and creativity, detail and wholeness. But that balance has been disrupted. Modern systems—media, education, religion, even some branches of science—encourage dominance of the left hemisphere. The left brain manages time, structure, language, and separation. The right brain? It connects us to unity—art, intuition, insight, and the greater field.

What’s been cleverly engineered is a society that rewards left-brain dominance. From early schooling to higher education, we’re trained to absorb, memorize, and conform. Creativity, questioning, or perceiving beyond the surface is often discouraged. Children with strong right-brain gifts are labeled as disruptive. As adults, many of us graduate not into wisdom, but into mental confinement—doctors, scientists, leaders—operating from only a fragment of their full potential.

Yet the truth continues to break through.

Neuroscientist Jill Bolte Taylor, after suffering a stroke in her left brain, temporarily experienced life without its filters. What she described was oneness—a realm of pure love and peace where she was everything and everything was her. In those moments, her perception shifted. Letters became shapes. Sounds turned into vibrations. She was no longer decoding the world through separation. And in that space, she found deep healing, free from the emotional weight of her past.

Others, too, show what’s possible when more of consciousness is accessed. Autistic savants like Stephen Wiltshire or Daniel Tammet display astonishing abilities—drawing entire cities from memory or learning new languages in days. These individuals are not “less than”—they are reminders of what human potential looks like when the filters fall away. Society may call it abnormal, but in truth, it’s a glimpse into what we all could be.

What holds us back is the worship of intellect without the guidance of consciousness. Intellect has value, but only when it serves awareness. In our world today, intellect often dominates—it isolates, controls, and suppresses. It builds walls where bridges should be. The result is a civilization guided by intelligence, but starved of wisdom.

And so, we face a choice: continue identifying with a limited, intellect-bound self—or awaken to a deeper truth. One where knowing replaces thinking, and wisdom flows from presence. When we clear the mind of programmed beliefs and return to awareness—pure experience—we begin to see again. The world becomes vibrant, connected. The heart opens. Intuition returns. And we remember that we are not separate from the divine field—we are a part of it.

A near-death experiencer once shared:

“I saw everything. My life, my family, others, all at once. I could hear their thoughts—past and present. Time didn’t exist. Distance didn’t exist. I was everywhere.”

That is who we are. Not a name, a role, or a limited identity. The illusion is maintained through how we’ve been taught to process reality. But when we enter a whole-brain state—when both hemispheres engage freely—the illusion begins to dissolve. We remember.

Plato described this world as a shadow play. He was right. The source of the light, the projector, the truth—that is consciousness. The ancients knew this. And deep within, so do we.

When we awaken to our full nature, we stop asking, “Who am I?”

We know.

I am.

And that is enough.
